My Devotion – Justin Senryū

Originally from England, Justin moved to Asia at the age of 18 to study Buddhism in and around the Himalayas. He is now a world renowned player of the shakuhachi, the Japanese flute traditionally played by the ‘monks of no-thingness’ – samurai who took shakuhachi as their main means of spiritual practice. Justin recently returned to the UK to set up a Buddhist psychotherapy practice. Click above to see Justin perform on the shakuhachi, and below to hear him speak about his experience of Buddhism in relation to his practice as both a musician and psychotherapist.
